Wonderful Wedding Graffiti

Wonderful venue? Check. Beautifully designed tables? Check. Big blank wall that the venues won't let you hang anything on using tape, nails, or anything that might damage the walls. Check...

If this is the case then
Wonderful Graffiti Wedding might be just what you need!

Wonderful Graffiti is very thin pieces of matte vinyl that look "printed" when applied to most smooth surfaces. Your entire wedding Graffiti design arrives on one sheet of transfer paper. Just tape the transfer paper into place, burnish it down and peel it away. Only the individual letters and graphic elements remain. Wonderful Graffiti removes quickly, and won't harm underlying surfaces.

There are so many designs to choose from or you can design your own.

I love the site and am looking at their home graffiti section for something to put up in my redesinged bed room!

Real Wedding - Jes and Greg

While the weather last weekend was hit or miss, the wedding of Jess and Greg was anything but!

From a Grateful Dead processional played by a violin/guitar duo to the exchanging of Hawaiian wedding leis instead of ring, these two are very unique and laid back.

Here are just a few the pictures I took. I can't wait to see the professional ones. There is an Abby Road homage that I got a preview of that was fabulous!

Wedding - Baker Park, Frederick, MD
Reception - Danielle's, Frederick, MD
Photography - AJ Photography
Music - Frederick DJ
Stationary - Grooms mother (as soon as I find her website I'll post it because her stuff wonderful as it's what she does for a living!)

The bells in the tower were played before and after the ceremony.

All the attendants said a words and it's meaning in Hawaiian (they got engaged in Hawaii so it has special meaning to them)

Mr. and Mrs. and Pete (who was also in the wedding!)

First dance

This cake topper has been in his family since 1938. They are the 4th generation to use it!

Origin of Wedding Traditions - Carrying the bride over the threshold

Carrying the bride over the threshold—It was tradition for the bride to enter the house through the front door before the groom, and if she tripped or stumbled it was seen to be very bad luck, hence it became a duty for the groom to carry his new bride over the threshold.

The Science of Love

A great article about the science of the brain related to love and attachment in long term relationships.

As a long term-er, this had me cracking up because it sounds so much like my husband!

Origin of Wedding Traditions - Colored Wedding Dresses

Before Victorian times, dresses were not always white. Blue was the original color that symbolized purity, and most likely where the "something blue" in the rhyme came form.

In other cultures, white has never been a common wedding dress color. Norwegian brides traditional wore green and Icelandic brides wore black.

Happy Mothers Day

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 Y EARS O F AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion..
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. Thebeauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful women mothers (mom, stepmom, MIL and grandmother) in my life!
